Operating a Motorcycle in Nevada
In order to operate a motorcycle in the state of Nevada you must:
- Meet the state’s minimum age requirement
- Obtain a Nevada motorcycle license (you may also need to obtain a motorcycle instruction permit)
- Register your motorcycle with the state of Nevada
- Obtain insurance coverage that meets Nevada state requirements

Getting a Nevada Motorcycle License
According to the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles, in addition to meeting the requirements necessary to obtain a regular driver’s license, individuals must apply for a motorcycle license to operate a motorcycle.

Motorcycle Education & Training in Nevada
Motorcyclists should sign up for a motorcycle safety course. In Nevada, it is not mandatory to complete a motorcycle safety course to obtain a Nevada Class M license, however applicants under the age of 18 must comply with Nevada Teen Driving requirements.
